The Client
Our client is an industry leading Plc organisation based in West London who require an Oracle Developer (BI/Data Warehousing) to join an award winning dynamic team on number of new and existing BI/Data Warehousing projects. Applicants will need to have the requisite communication skills demanded by a Plc/blue-chip company and a passion for data-driven platforms.
The Role as Oracle Developer (BI/Data Warehousing)
The position as Oracle Developer entails working in an award winning team to deliver multiple data-driven projects across the group platforms to enable the business to extract greater data capabilities to meet the company’s vision of being the leading player in their sector.
Duties;
- Manage reporting solutions and tools in the data warehouse environment
- Set up and manage data aggregates
- Build and manage reports
- Implement new ways of using data
- Interact with other departments to gather requirements and implement and support solutions
- Advanced Oracle SQL writing and optimisation
- Create and maintain PL/SQL packages
- Report requirement gathering
- Develop new reports and maintain current reports
- Propose improvements
- Data investigations and problem-solving
- Ensure reports are accurate, timely & meet stakeholders requirements
- Advocate the best practices (testing, documentation & development)
- Be proactive with stakeholder communication and meet their reporting requirement
In addition to excellent communication, collaboration and people management skills, you should possess very good organisational skills, be a pragmatic person and highly focused on delivery. In addition, you should have the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects. The following technical skills are also required;
- Advanced Oracle (11g and above) SQL writing and optimisation
- Creating and maintaining PL/SQL packages
- Experience with dealing with large data volumes
- Qliksense and Apex experience good to have
- Understanding of data warehouse concepts good to have
- Setting up of dashboards and reports for business end users
- Knowledge of Python, Java or Scala is desirable
