The Client
Our client is a thriving international consultancy with a reputation for pioneering digital engineering capabilities encompassing multiple business sectors (Financial Services, Life Sciences, Big Data/AI & Retail) who are seeking to expand their capabilities with exceptional Solution Architects with demonstrable delivery experience of next generation cloud solutions. Applicants will possess the requisite level of communication skills and experience that a blue-chip/PLC environment demands, ideally from a consultancy background.
The Role as Solution Architect
Our client is seeking a number of Solution Architects for existing and greenfield projects in multiple sectors aimed at assisting their high profile clients transition from traditional software development/legacy systems to digitally engineered cloud solutions. Utilising a unique approach to software modernisation, the client delivers services aimed at building and running applications in such a way that fully exploits the advantages of the integrated Agile-DevOps-Cloud delivery model.
The main delivery duties will be to:
- Forge relationships with Technology C-Suite decision makers withinclient organisations
- Overseeing technological, architecture and design decisions and recommending corrective actions if needed
- Have the opportunity to define and overview a consistent agile development process according to the team and customer expectations
- Conduct technical reviews, audit projects and ensure best practices are followed
- Stay up to date with state of the art technology trends to propose new features and provide value and innovative solutions to our customer
- Create and execute a high level development plan based on multi-year technology roadmaps for one or more projects
- Participate in the software development community in some capacity: meetups, blogs, Stack Overflow, open source projects, etc.
- Participate in the development of pre-sales proposals and sales pitches, providing the required information for RFPs
- Map client organization, build extraordinary relationships with new business units, build a consultative sales strategy for developing new business opportunities
- Mentor and coach a team of Tech Leads and Architects
- Support revenue generation by scoping, structuring, and leading digital engagements
- Envision and create new opportunities within existing and new businesses
- Support development of and execution of account growth strategy and business plans
- Work in a matrix organization, responsible for prospecting and other sales management goals designed
- Experience in demand fulfilment, collaborating with HR / Ops, Offshore Teams
The Solution Architect Candidate
In addition to excellent communication, collaboration and people skills, you should possess very good organisational skills, be a pragmatic person and highly focused on deliverables and have the ability to work under pressure.
You should ideally possess experience of the following;
- Deep understanding and ability to talk convincingly through ideas centred around modern digital enterprises such as product centric org structures, pod based delivery model, TDD/BDD, deep understanding of DevOps, Scaled agile (Safe 4.0 or above), microservices, containerisation, serverless, hybrid hosting patterns such as private, public cloud (Azure/AWS), PaaS (OpenShift, Cloud Foundry)
- High degree of comfort and ability to talk through approach to perform app portfolio analysis, identify candidates for cloud native journey: re-host, re-platform, re-architect etc.
- Ability to lead level-1 client workshop using domain driven design techniques
- Proven and strong skills with ability to formulate conceptual solutions including design and technology to business problems.
- Proven results in consultative selling approach
- Prior experience forging relationships at Director, VP, and CXO levels
- Experience in understanding client requirements and mapping to client service offerings
- Strong oral and written and interpersonal skills and executive presentation and persuasion skills
