Salary: £70-75K (pro rata) + 15% pension + 10-15% bonus + healthcare + life assurance + 25 days holiday (pro rata)
The Client
Our client is an International Plc based in Central London who require an Interim Head of Business Analysis to manage a portfolio of projects. Based in their prestigious HQ this exciting opportunity requires candidates from a Plc/Blue-chip background.
The Role as Head of Business Analysis
The client is seeking an interim Head of BA to assume control of a number of inflight and new projects and line management responsibility of 8 Business Analysts spread across multiple tech stack projects (CRM, Info Sec, HR, Finance/ERP, Business Apps etc). The position will be split in to 50% hands on Senior BA duties and 50% line management and senior stakeholder liaison.
Duties include;
- - 50% Head of BA duties / 50% Senior BA duties
- - Direct line management responsibility for the team of business analysts.
- - Defining the processes and templates that all business analysts should follow.
- - Working with the Head of Technology Projects to define and prioritise the project and BAU roadmaps and agree resource requirements across the activities.
- - Initiate and influence relationship with stakeholders across the business. - Act as a single point of contact for business analysis. Negotiate at a senior level on technical, operational and commercial issues to understand and agree what will meet their needs.
- - Facilitate workshops with key business stakeholders to:
- Gather issues and challenges currently experienced.
- Discuss, agree and document the to-be processes
- Provide input and insight into best practice
- - Perform a gap analysis against existing systems, BRD, Process Mapping, Traceability Matrix
- - Requirements gathering and specification skills - including standard approaches for assimilation and presentation
- - Conduct requirements elicitation and prioritisation with business stakeholders and the delivery team including functional, non-functional & technical requirements and Testing (UAT scripts and manage UAT activities) where necessary
- - Strong analytical skills, ability to understand problem domain and express complexity in clear terms to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- - The ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional design either using UML (UseCases, Activity/State Diagrams, Process Mapping, Work Shops)
- - Stakeholder (internal/external) relationship management
- - Create and manage functional specification together with creative, user experience and technical stakeholders
- - Support project manager during project planning and delivery, including estimation, risk management, briefing of technical and quality assurance teams, issue resolution, client status updates and testing
The Head of Business Analysis Candidate
The client is seeking somebody who is dynamic, engaging, has strong stakeholder management skills, is self-motivated and can work independently. In addition to excellent communication skills (written/verbal), you must also be able to demonstrate the following:
- - 10+ years as Business Analyst
- - 5+ years as Lead Business Analyst or Head of Business Analysis
- - Agile experience
- - Proven experience in gathering business and functional requirements through a variety of methods, interacting directly with end users and senior business stakeholders alike.
- - Experience in writing UAT scripts and manage UAT activities
- - Facilitate workshops with key business stakeholders
- - The ability to translate business requirements into detailed functional design either using UML (UseCases, Activity/State Diagrams, Process Mapping, Work Shops)
- - Gap analysis against existing systems, BRD, Process Mapping, Traceability Matrix
- - End to end experience of the systems project life cycle, with proven experience of delivering projects using different methodologies
- - Demonstrable evidence of documenting and analysing complex business processes.
- - Demonstrable experience writing requirements specifications for Information Systems
- - A flexible approach, with the ability to quickly adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- - Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as customer service skills.
